The eagle has significant meaning in the Bible, let’s dive right in!

We see in Isaiah 40:31:

“But those who wait upon the Lord will find new strength.  They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”

Let’s look at this closer, it says right here if we wait on the Lord.  To wait on the Lord: How long do we wait?  Let’s look at Noah, God told him there was a flood coming and Noah waited 100 years.  Abraham was told he was going to have a child at 90, he went and waited 20 more years.  Waiting has no time, time is irrelevant in the waiting game.  Waiting is an attitude, a lifestyle choice.  I will wait on the Lord for however long it takes.

By achieving the ability to wait, we will renew our strength.  This kind of strength will allow for you to mount up with wings as eagles.  When we mount up with wings of eagles, we then can soar high above the storm clouds, we can soar to new heights.  It will give us power and grace, it gives us strength, a strength that only can come from God.  A strength that allows us to run and not grow weary.  Far too many Christians get to running in the race and get tired, they grow weary and that leads us to give up.  It allows the devil to negatively influence our thoughts and it’s here, in these times, we need to remember, that God Word is alive.

We see in Hebrews 4:12-13:

12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

We must seek His word and allow His living Word to protect, lead, and guide us because this is what will lead us to rest and perfect peace.  That is what will allow us to run and not grow weary and to walk and not grow faint.

These wings are also used in a protective manner as it says here, in Deuteronomy 32:11-12:

“As an eagle stirs up its nest, Hovers over its young,
Spreading out its wings, taking them up,
Carrying them on its wings 12 So the Lord alone led him,
And there was no foreign god with him.”

What a beautiful display of how God takes us, protects us, embraces us, and will take us to new heights just as an eagle does to its young.  We can also look at it as God stands behind us and broods over us, wings out and wrapped around us.  In turn, saying this is my child leave him be.

In Exodus 14:14 it says: “the Lord will fight your battles all we need to be is silent.”

So when you feel the weight of the world weighing down on your shoulders, imagine your comfortably sitting in your nest prepared by God himself and as you look back, you see these big strong wings brooding over you.

This is when you should realize that “No weapon formed against you shall prosper” Isaiah 54:17.

Because you are both under the wings of Eagles as well as on the wings of Eagles.
