Today let’s discuss what it means to be a citizen of heaven. First, let’s go to the scriptures and see what it says about that.
Paul tells us in Philippians 1:27 “Above all, you must live as citizens of Heaven, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ.” He goes on to tell us to stand together in one spirit, with one purpose, fighting together for the faith which is the Good News. 28 “Don’t be intimidated by your enemies. This will be a sign to them that they are going to be destroyed, but you are going to be saved, by God Himself.”
Okay, imagine with me if you will, that you were born in heaven and you grew up with God and Jesus. All you ever saw was the beauty, the unimaginable beauty of Heaven. All you were taught was to love, honor, and serve your Lord, praising Him every chance you have, being taught scripture, and you were given your citizenship card for Heaven. One day Jesus calls you to the throne and asks you to take a trip for Him. He would like you to go down to earth, settles in somewhere, and spread the Good News that you learned about while you were here in heaven.
He goes on to say, “Now don’t let yourself conform to their ways. The devil is very much alive down there, and very active. He is being pushed just about everywhere you go. You’ll have to be strong, stay in prayer, read the scriptures as a reminder, and I will also equip you with the Holy Spirit to help and guide you.”
“Also you will see and hear a lot of evil, don’t let that sway your mission, you’re going to spread seeds of hope and love. Your whole mission is to tell as many souls about Me, about this place, and what awaits them if they only accept me.”
“Now you will have many enemies coming at you, because Satan’s whole job, his whole mission is to keep as many people as he can from being saved, from coming here.”
*For this next part I want you to fill in your name in the blank spots*
“So, _____________, I want you to remember that I love you, I died so you _____________ could live with me for eternity. _____________ if you feel scared, and at times you might just call on my name like this. Jesus, please help me. Jesus help me. I love you. _____________ if you accidentally sin, which you will know what that is, “all things I disapprove of.” So if you do sin _____________, just ask me to forgive you and I will immediately, because I love you _____________, I truly do.”
“_____________, I need you to remember daily your mission. I’m sending you to be a seed planter, to be a seed germinator, and to be a rescuer. Lead my children back to me, remind them from where you come from. Teach them my ways, show them love, and live a life worthy of the Good News, so you _____________ will stand out and people will know you are a true:
CITIZEN OF HEAVEN”
So ask yourself, _____________, am I a citizen of Heaven? Have I accepted my mission? Am I filled with purpose from God and for God?
I hope you enjoyed today’s message and tune in daily for more!
