Can We Move Mountains with Our Faith?

Imagine that, in Matthew 17:20 the disciples came to Jesus asking why they couldn’t drive out the demons from this boy and Jesus responded, “Because you don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them.

“I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”

It also says in Mark 11:23:

“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.”

This is truly an awesome gift to have, to move a mountain does have its requirements though.  For one, the Lord says in His Word that everyone is given a measure of faith, so some do have more than others.  So depending on the measure given will determine how many, how big, and how often you can move mountains.  Mountain moving is through your faith, in Mark 9:29 it goes on to say that the only way to have this kind of faith is through prayer and fasting.  So through prayer and fasting coupled with our measure of faith given, we have the ability to say to the mountains move and it will move.

We can apply this to our own life.  It doesn’t mean a physical mountain; the mountain can be financial, business, ministry, relationships, etc.

So if you want something in your life to be moved than get on your knees and pray.  Pick something in your life that is a vice or you can’t seem to do without and fast from it.  This will build your spirit man.  That will allow you to defeat your flesh.  Your flesh is your sin skin.  It wants you to do everything against our Lord, so by fasting, you can make your spiritual man stronger, so you can defeat the urges and wants of the flesh.

When your spirit is in control of your flesh, then get into your prayers, let the spirit man pray on your behalf.  Praying and fasting is your doorway or gateway to releasing your mountain-moving faith and the only way to activate it.

The Bible says in James 2:20“Faith without works is dead.”

So if you have no works, by the words of God, your faith is dead.  You will have no mountain-moving faith, you will be stagnant.  Can you do anything or receive anything being stagnant or being dead?  No, certainly not.

Faith is believing in something, believing in someone, believing for a situation, or believing in receiving.  Faith believes in what we cannot see, do not know, have no assurance in, or are blind too.

The next time you would like something and you have the money to buy it, activate your faith that God will provide it for you.  Take that money and bless someone else, believe in due time God will bring it to you.  My wife recently was considering getting a new bathing suit, mostly because I was starting to not like it any longer, even though I bought it for her, go figure.  Anyway for like 6 months or so I have been saying you should get a new suit baby, but we never acted on it we just always believed when God’s ready He will provide one.  So, a friend and her daughter were visiting us from a town 3 hrs away and the next day after they arrived they decided to celebrate my daughter’s birthday.  They all went to this really nice natural spring.  My wife did not bring her suit seeing she had no intention of going in.  As the children swim and play they decide to all get tubes and go tubing down the little crystal river.  Well at this point my wife had to join in because 3 of our children were also going.  So her friend offered her a swimsuit since she had brought a few with her.  Well, long story short, when they returned back to the house her friend had said, “Oh, by the way, you can have that suit.”  So not only was it the color she has been wanting, it was a nice designer name at that!

This is so typical of God answering a faith-based heart that lives on mustard seed faith, where you just wait for God to show up.  We are here to tell you that when you keep your eyes fixed on Him and His purpose, He will always provide as long as it is His good will to do so.

Believe God will provide all your needs.  Too many people rely on themselves to provide, so if you have the ability to or have sufficient means to, you can’t understand God providing.  But if you become a blessing tool for God and take your means and do the blessing and look to God to be a provider for your desires, then you will see God showing up in your life.

If you concentrate on the will of God and His to-do list for you, then He will be ahead of you preparing the way, providing blessings and answering prayers.

Remember faith as small as a mustard seed can move a mountain and a mustard seed is the smallest seed out there, so if you have the slightest amount of faith then you can move mountains and again this kind of faith only comes by prayer and fasting.

The Bible says to love believing in all things, so if you have a specific desire from your heart or you have a dream, a plan, or something that requires faith, do you think by doubting the request or whatever it is your desiring is faith?  No, most definitely not.  Even if the dream or request is out there, too big, shot down by others, it’s your duty to “love believing in all things” as Christ commands.  Go around believing, activate your faith, for your only need is to trust your Savior just a tiny, tiny little bit and yes you can move mountains.

You seriously must practice this faith, be in prayer and fast.  Your flesh is sinful and wants to doubt so fasting will put you in control of your flesh, be in prayer with your heavenly Father.  He will listen to your requests and He will guide you with His Holy Spirit.

If you have never really asked God for something and completely believed He would deliver no matter how long it took and wait until it happens, arrives, or shows up, then yes it’s hard to believe and have faith.  But you must activate your faith by patience.  Faith is believing coupled with patience.  In order to activate it you have to just do it!  Try it right now think of a situation, a problem, a heart’s desire, a need, or want and when I say want, this falls under your heart’s desire.  I’m not talking something outside our means like a Bentley or mansion, I mean just something you need personally or a situation with family or friends and put your faith to the test, call on God, ask for your blessing, and just know if and when He wants to give it to you or fix it or deliver it, then He will.  Leave it at that, ask for His guidance in this situation, now just go about your business and be patient.

When it finally happens, that is a mustard seed-like faith.  Just a little brings big results and this now can be practiced over and over and over.  God’s intention is all for the advancement of His Kingdom, not a personal gain, so don’t get conceded and prideful or curses will fall down instead of blessings.
